Geographical
  • Bodrum is located at the southwest tip of Anatolia and, with the peninsula, covers an area of 700 km².
  • The population of the Bodrum peninsula according to the 2000 census, is 56.000, with 35.180 in Bodrum town.

    Pharmacies [ Eczane ]
  • Are open daily from 8:00 AM until appoximately 20:00 PM in high season. After normal business hours, one Pharmacy remain open of the Pharmacy 'On Duty' is posted on the door of all the chemists.
  • Most international medical drugs are avaible. Strong pain killers, tranquillisers, and some other drugs require prescrip-tions. If you know the generic name of your medicine the pharmacist can usually find it or an equivalent.

    Traffic in Turkey
  • In turkey traffic drives on the right. Road signs are international. Where there are no posted speed limits, legal speed limit is 40 km per hour in towns and villages, 90 km per hour on the highways. Seat belts are compulsory and drivers may not use mobile phones whilst driving. Radar traps are in frequent use on major roads.

    City Transport
  • Minibus ( Dolmus in Turkish ) services to all villages and beaches leave from bus station (otogar in turkish) which is located on Cevat Sakir Street.
  • You can board at bus station or anywhere along the route by signaling it to stop for you. Similarly you can get off at a convenient point anywhere along the route. Just tell the driver.

    Self Drive
  • Car rental , Jeep, motorcycle, Moped, and bicycle rental companies can be found throughout the town. You can choose from well known locally established companies.
    Do check insurance details and breakdown back up carefully before entering into any hire agreement.

    Sports and Leisure Activities
  • Camel Rides : Bagla Beach, everyday
  • Markets : Milas and Bodrum on Tuesdays, Ortakent on Wednesdays, Yalikavak on Thursdays, Bitez and Bodrum on Fridays and Turgutreis on Saturdays.
  • Watersports : every beach around bodrum peninsula has a huge variety to cater for all ages.
  • Windsurfing : Particulary popular on the south side of the bodrum peninsula where the winds are stronger during the morning. Rental usually by the hour and available at Bitez beach.
